The Eureka Suite
(John C Munro)
The
Eureka
Suite uses songs, images and the spoken word to tell the story
behind the events that took place at Ballarat in 1854.
Australia's favourite contemporary, acoustic, folk band Colcannon
has combined its talents to present a spectacle that explores
the stories which provide the backdrop to one of the most significant
events in Australia's history.
You haven't truly heard the story of Eureka until you've
experienced The Eureka Suite performed by Colcannon.
"When
I saw Eureka Suite performed by Colcannon
at the Port Fairy Folk Festival I clapped until my hands hurt.
The combination of the stunning, innovative, comprehensively
researched songs, the fine musicianship and the crystal clear
voices that carried every word to me, made me realise that
I was participating in an Australian masterpiece.
Every Australian should see it. It should be presented to every
high school in the country."
Ted Egan A.M.
"The
songs in the Eureka Suite can help us go back into
that time where we can wave the same flag, join the same
rebel chorus and fight for our fellow Australians.
The flag of Eureka still needs to be waved."
Warren Fahey

"A
passionate and stirring musical interpretation
of a pivotal episode in Australia's history"
Graham McDonald,
(Program Manager, Australian National
Folk Festival)
